Elder Rivers was born on September 8, 1962 to the union of Jimmy and Alice Rivers. He left his hometown of Dangerfield, TX when he was nine years old. Growing up in Los Angeles, CA with his siblings Tony, Patrick, and Erin was a joyful experience. Presently he resides in Palmdale, CA with his wife Deborah and they are blessed to be walking in one accord with God. Their family of three boys and three girls has been richly blessed by God's grace and as they grow more in love each day, they are learning to trust God immensely.

 

In 1969, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. As a child, his parents and grandparents raised him under the umbrella of faith and belief in God. With God's hand on his life, he was called and licensed to preach in 1981 under the leadership and ministry of Dr. Lloyd C. Blue, Prosperity Baptist Church, Los Angeles, CA. He became the Youth Minister from 1981 through 1985.  From 1990 to 1992, he served on the ministerial staff of the late Reverend William Brown at Christ Missionary Church, Los Angeles, CA. Then in 1999, he became a member of  West Angeles COGIC where he was involved under the leadership of Bishop Charles E. Blake. In 2000, he was led by the Lord to join and actively participate in worship under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Pastor-Teacher.

 

Having a desire to obtain further Christian education, he attended the following: In 1982, he enrolled at the California Baptist college in Riverside, CA. Then in 2003, he attended West Angeles Bible College for one year where he was awarded a certificate for Outstanding Academic Achievement. Still thirsting for more wisdom, in 2004 he was accepted to The King's College in Van Nuys, CA. Desiring to continually seek the Lord and His wisdom, he attends various courses and seminaries.

 

Through the years, he has been available to preach amongst various church congregations. He is currently serving as an active Elder at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship under the leadership of Bishop Henry Hearns.
