Pastor Miller was born June 17, 1936 in Holden, West Virginia to Erie and Ozellous Miller. When he was two years old, his mother moved to Spring City, TN where they lived with his grandparents. He attended Ray County Colored Elementary School. At the age of eight years old, he became a vegetable farmer growing beans, cucumbers, greens, and squash with great success. Between the ages of 8-18, for a short time, he became a lumberjack and owned several mules. He graduated from Carver High School in Dayton, TN in 1956 where he excelled in football and played half back, full back and line positions. His dreams of playing football in college were shattered by a serious logging accident. He did, however, attend Knoxville College for one year.
In 1961, he moved to California for a year to seek employment. He visited First Missionary Baptist Church during that time. He later returned to Tennessee where he met the love of his life, Virginia Jo, in Rockwood, TN. He would travel 80 miles one-way just to see her. They were engaged and married one year later and moved back to California. In 1962, they became members of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Since that time, he worked at Edwards Air Force Base from 1961-1970, M & W Gas Station from 1970-1973, and the School District from 1970-1999 where he retired after 28 years.
While serving at First Missionary Baptist Church, he held positions of Children's Church Director, Deacon, Minister, and is currently serving as Pastor of Living Stone Cathedral of Worship.
