Pastor Carter has been an Elder here at Living Stone Cathedral of Worship for more than four years, but in December of 2006 the Lord elevated him to the position of assistance Pastor; while Bishop Henry Hearns presides as the Senior Pastor.
Pastor Carter was born and raised in
California, attended Pacoima Elementary, and then went to Los Angeles Baptist Junior and Senior High school. He transferred to
San Fernando
High school and earned an athletic scholarship in football to the
University of
Wyoming, and later transferred to
San Diego
State
University. Pastor Carter was drafted as a linebacker into the United States Football League (USFL) where he played two years with the Oakland Invaders and Arizona Outlaws. He also played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers.
After many years of running, Pastor Carter had a
Damascus Road experience on November 26, 1997, where he had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ at a small apostolic church called Word of Life under the leadership of Elder Jerold Ross. That night 11-26-97, he was filled with the gift of the Holy Spirit and has never been the same again (II Corinthians 5:17) ”if any man be in Christ he is a new creation old things have passed away all things become new”. Since that day he has faithfully served in the sound room ministry, Sunday school teacher, and head of the men’s group (Kings Men) for more than eight years.
Pastor Carter has gone back to school to finish his degree in Business Management at the
University of
Phoenix and is currently working at an asphalt plant in
Barstow for Skanska Inc. He is married to Lisa Carter and has three beautiful children JaQuay, Kavon, and Lynzee Carter.
